Keeping healthy in this FATTENING, SUGAR FILLED, time of year!
In between the holiday parties, say no to drive thru. Try and prepare hot,
nutrient rich meals for the kids. If you are limited on time, grap a back of stir fry frozen veggies, grill some
chicken, and mix together. Soup, and sandwiches, are also a quick healthy meal everyone can enjoy.
For a healthy quick snack that everyone can enjoy, spreading cream chease or peanut
butter on just about any fruit or veggie is always a hit.
Make sure the kids get plenty of water and physical activity. Enjoy the cool
weather, throw on a sweater and take a nature walk. Talk you your kids about the change in weather, and leaves.
Also, remember at dinner party, pace yourselves and your children. Enjoy the
offerings, but remember...you don't have to eat everything offered and ask youself "How will this make me feel when I'm DONE
eating".
If it's too much left over halloween candy plaguing you, have you child pick 20
of their favorite pieces that you will keep in a jar in the kitchen. Take the rest and have them decorate lunch bags
to hold the candy and give it to friends, neighbors, or teacher. It will keep you and your child from eating
it all...and will give your child some popularity points with his friends.
